PIM Project schemes

»The influence of different factors on a PIM project«

Different types of projects

There is no generic project plan for a PIM project. Every company has different factors (company factors) that influence a PIM project.

Also, the project type is essential for creating an individual project plan, as the procedure is typically different in a new project than, for example, in replacing an old PIM system.

Based on these questions, which are answered during project definition, a first rough schedule can be derived on the basis of which an indicative offer for a PIM implementation can be made.

Example of a possible project organisation

This diagram shows an exemplary organisation for a PIM project. Both sides need a project manager for their PIM project.

In larger projects, some project managers work exclusively as project leaders and, additionally, there is a product specialist who is responsible for the project, conducts workshops and sets the direction.

In smaller projects, project managers also assume the role of product specialists. In addition, there are project staff on both sides, depending on the project.
